As a Group, our vision is to be a leading, diversified natural resources company providing superior returns to our shareholders – a journey we have been on for a decade. Our Sustainable Development Model, which comprises the four pillars of Responsible Stewardship, Building Strong Relationships, Adding and Sharing Value and Strategic Communications provides us with a robust structure for driving our future growth, advancing our business outcomes and offering significant benefits to the communities that host our operations.
Vedanta Limited appointed Sunil Duggal as the Group CEO & Chief Safety Officer in August 2020. He is an active member of several industry forums; he is President of the Federation of Mining Industries (FIMI) and Chairman of CII’s Mining Committee. Mr. Duggal’s appointment also emphasises the Groups renewed focus on ESG and Sustainability as he brings with him a wealth of strategic executive experience in operational health and safety, ESG practises and an understanding of corporate carbon foot-printing.
As a Group, we have a clear structure for managing and implementing our Sustainable Development Framework from the Sustainability Committee to our subsidiary businesses. Sustainability is driven through all levels of the Group, from Board endorsement at committee level (including the Sustainability Committee) to operational review and target setting through at our Segment Business Committees and as part of the regular training and instruction conducted on site at our subsidiary businesses' operations.
